Squads

dorney lake practiceWelcome to squad information.  Molesey has a wide range of rowing squads from elite international athletes to the occasional recreational rower.  We also have a lively social squad for our enthusiasts who do not take part in activities on the water.  If you would like more information on how you could get involved in one of our squads, please contact the Honorary Secretary.

You must be a registered user to contact the squad news. Please select your squad below for news, training times etc.

  • Elite Rowing
Molesey has a large group of athletes who compete at an international level, as well as many who have previously competed at an international level, but still get together to row at a very high standard.  This section describes their groups.
  • Senior Men

Molesey Crews at HenleyThe Senior Men's Squad is led by Tom Courtney, who can be reached under Contacts.

  • Surf Rowing
  • Veteran

A strong contingent of veterans enjoy rowing at Molesey. In crew terms there are about four eights, a couple of fours, some pairs and of course many single scullers. These crews tend to form and stay in loose groups and carry out their own training and organisation, even to the extent of owning their own equipment.

  • Adult Novice

Molesey offers coaching for Adults who wish to learn to row either competitively or recreationally.  Read more here for details of how to apply.

  • Juniors 16-18

The oldest juniors start to row and train with the senior squad as soon as this is practical. Before long, they can find themselves in the company of Olympic and Henley winners, and get a real insight into what it takes!

  • Juniors 11-15

Molesey Boat Club takes and trains juniors from as young as ten up to sixteen. The Junior rowing squads are coached by a very dedicated team of volunteers under the direction of Dickon Poole This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .  New junior members are assessed and given a training programme that suits them and their time. We do not over-stretch young people, but we do have a very active programme in racing competitively and winning.

Parents of juniors are welcome to attend club social events, as well as Thursday suppers and Sunday open bar.

  • Parent Supporters

The Parents' Supporters Association exists to offer assistance to these coaches in the organisation of activities and to help in fundraising, which is necessary for keeping the squad equipped.  If you can offer your assistance to help load boats on trailers, help out with a social event, or have any fun fundraising ideas, we'd love to hear from you.  New members are always very welcome.
