Night Rowing

Molesey Boat Club Night Rowing Safety Code.

 

 

Rowing and Sculling in the dark is dangerous and not encouraged.

Unaccompanied outings are viewed as unwise, but the individual is expected to have carried out their own assessment of the risks involved.

 

  1. White lights must be displayed, attached to the Bow and Stern to give 360 degree visibility. (No coloured or flashing lights are permitted)

     

  2. No club coxless boats or sculls may go afloat, unless accompanied by a launch.

     

  3. Keep away from the centre of the river at all times.

     

  4. No beginners may go afloat unless accompanied by a launch.

     

  5. Lighting up times are as published in the local press and on Notice boards

     

  6. If a light fails during an outing, fix it or return immediately to the club.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Strong Stream Conditions. Club Red River State Warning Displayed.

No boats may go afloat in the dark, unless accompanied by a launch.

 

 

 

 

Amendments and Temporary Changes.

These will be published on the club notice boards when required.
