Off to Beijing

E-mail Print PDF

We’re leaving in 2 hours from the hotel and this pretty much marks the beginning of the end of the last four years!  Our physiology is now sealed in the effectiveness of the training over the last few years.  We have our rhythm that we hope will make the journey too, but 90% of that is done, with just the last bit of ‘tweaking’ to do.  And finally four years of preparation and my mind is a little like... ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! HOLY COW THE OLYMPICS ARE HERE!  Only joking, I know we have another year to go!  But I’m sure it’s going to go quickly, I recon it’s going to feel more like 10 days.  This is kind of lucky, there are still a few things to work on and this year is going to really help to get it right!

There isn’t much more to say, a lot of the stuff on my mind is locked in the boat.  I haven’t needed to think about much else for so long now, the world could have been devastated by nuclear war (sparing Reading and Caversham of course! But if this is all that’s left the human race is really toasted!) and I wouldn’t have noticed.  Good old rowing syndrome!

So all that’s left to say is; Beijing here we come, I hope the Chinese are ready for us, because we’re ready for the rest of the world!  Bring it on!

See you on the other side.
