The Committee want to make awards at the dinner on 15th November to recognise those members who contributed greatly to the success of the club in the 2007/2008 season. The winners of awards for juniors have already been determined but the recipients of other awards are still to be decided.
All club members are therefore invited to make nominations in respect of the 2007/2008 season (October 2007 to September 2008) for consideration by the committee at its meeting on 5th November 2008.
Please provide a few lines explaining why you think a crew or individual should receive an award and send that submission either in writing by putting the proposal in the pigeon hole at the bottom of the stairs addressed to Jonny Searle or by email to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. Award categories:
Greatest rowing related contribution by a non- rower: To be awarded to the club member who has made the greatest contribution to rowing results in the 2007/2008 season without pulling on an oar.
Best comedy moment: To be awarded to the club member who provided the most amusement on a single occasion in the 2007/2008 season.
Most improved rower (Veteran and Senior): Two awards to be made to the veteran and senior rowers respectively who improved the most in the 2007/2008 season.
Best rower (Veteran and Senior): To be awarded to the veteran and senior rowers respectively who achieved the best results in the 2007/2008 season.
Best crew result (Veteran and Senior): To be awarded to the veteran and senior crews which achieved the best results in the 2007/2008 season.
Greatest contribution to the club generally-The Reg Powell Rose Bowl: To be awarded to someone who has made the greatest contribution to the club in the 2007/2008 season.
