Molesey Boat Club had 7 crews racing Saturday, 15 March in the 2008 Head of the River.
With National Squad athletes unable to race due to Olympic commitments, it was left to the Club development squad (click for MBC 3 report, shown at left) to fly the flag with the best MBC placing finishing 8th. This is a great result from a predominately Thames Cup eligible squad. Further results from the club included 17th by MBC 1 (click for report), although would have been 11th without time penalty, and 26th (click for MBC 2 report), 35th (MBC 4), 85th (MBC 5) and 195th (MBC 6 – This crew is our Sporting Giants groups in their first Head) and 392nd (click for MBC 7 report). This was the first time in many years that MBC managed to get 5 crews in the top 100. Great effort by all crews. Further crew reports from each crew will be on the web throughout this week.
The main squad goes off to camp on Thursday to Varese, Italy to transition their early season promise into regatta speed in the lead up to July!
