It's official. Our WJ15 crew were joint winners of the Junior 15 Girls' Eights Pennant at this year's Schools Head of the River. Molesey fielded a Surbiton JW15 Eight for this event on March 4th, and they came in joint first with LEH, as well as beating many of the boys squads.
It was a typical freezing, windy day and this crew's first venture out onto the choppy waters of the tideway, but they took it all in their stride. They had to go wide to get around Oundle at the start, but then took up the clear water ahead to chase LEH to the finish in Putney. As one of the crew had to disembark there to go catch her flight for her German exchange trip, the remaining 7 had an exhausting row back to St. Pauls, but we're sure they would happily do it all again for this significant win. In the next division, our Junior Women had two JW Sch 4+ entries and did extremely well finishing 3rd and 5th out of a field of 16. Well done to all!
